Controller Design and Integration of Laying of Subsea Cables to Harness Oceanic and Tidal Power

The project aims to identify control strategies for laying of cable in high flow environments as found at tidal energy sites. Dr. Rickey Dubay's team at UNB is using DSA's ProteusDS software to simulate cable lay operations, and determine methods for control of cable payout based on environmental input such as current speed and seabed bathymetry.
