Removal of tidal turbine from Minas Passage encounters delays

On Nov. 16, OpenHydro ran out of time to remove the turbine after positioning their barge over the turbine. Removal of the turbine must occur over a 30-minute period at low tide during a neap tide. A second attempt on Nov. 17 had to be postponed due to high winds. recovery a the 400-tonne OpenHydro tidal turbine from the Minas Passage has been delayed until the next neap tide in December.
