The goal of this group is to improve communication between students involved in tidal energy research, regardless of the degree they’re working toward. We want to help students share their research, their ideas, and their experiences with other students. We also want to help students find opportunities through industry and government connections, and through connections with each other.

Expected deployment of the turbine in Nova Scotia will be in late summer of 2015. The MOU not only facilitates the delivery of this important project, but provides for collaboration on a wide range of issues from grid connection and storage, to participating in research and development initiatives at both Scottish and Nova Scotia universities.

The OERA awarded funding to Fundy Tidal, the Canadian Whale Institute, and Conserve.iO for a marine life observation program including Grand Passage, Petit Passage, and adjacent waters.
