Current Demonstration/Testing Sites in the Bay of Fundy
While many areas in the Bay of Fundy may have potential for either commercial or community-scale tidal energy development, the focus in Nova Scotia is currently on demonstration and testing-scale projects for the immediate future. There are currently 3 active demonstration sites in the Bay of Fundy being used to test and research various turbine, mooring and power transfer technologies, deployment and retreival systems, and environmental monitoring equipment and protocols. These sites are also where the majority of resource assessment, site investigation and environmental monitoring and impact research are focused.
